Level 3: pre-functional testing

Level 3 commissioning focuses on validating the installation before full commissioning. Starline-certified technicians inspect the system for compliance with safety requirements and factory standards, with testing completed before the busway is energized.

This service includes system start-up and certification, mechanical and electrical inspections, visual busway inspection, insulation-resistance measurements, continuity checks, and a detailed start-up report. The outcome is confidence that the installation is ready for safe energization, meets NETA specifications, and qualifies for applicable factory warranty coverage.

Level 4: functional performance testing

For Level 4 commissioning, Starline develops a comprehensive test script and performs functional testing of the busway system. The team supplies the required test equipment and personnel, applying loads of up to 100% of the rated system amperage to verify performance.

With thermal scanning completed by FLIR-certified technicians and comprehensive reports that include thermal imagery, teams gain a clear view of system condition. This proactive approach helps diagnose and report issues early, reduce the risk of unplanned downtime, maintain the project schedule, and support a successful go-live.

Level 5: integrated system testing

Level 5 extends the program into integrated system testing. Starline performs the Level 5 scope alongside the project’s selected commissioning agent, delivering loads of up to 100% of rated system amperage while enabling testing of upstream equipment such as PDUs, UPSs, and transfer switches.
